1. Operating Schedule
The Pigeon Forge Trolley operates 8:30 a.m. to midnight from early March through October and 10am to 10pm in November and December. The only days that the trolley service does not operate are Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This means that you can start your day with an early morning ride to visit Dollywood or ride back to the Vacation Lodge late at night after exploring the Island in Pigeon Forge! Most of the trolleys run every 15-25 minutes, while the Gatlinburg Welcome Center trolleys run every 25 to 30 minutes and the Wears Valley trolleys run every 40 to 45 minutes. Keep in mind that the times may vary due to traffic flow during peak tourism days, car shows and holiday weekends.
2. How to Find a Trolley Stop
If you have taken the Pigeon Forge Trolley to a certain destination but forgotten where to pick up the trolley for your ride back to the Vacation Lodge, there is no need to worry! There are over 100 stops throughout the city of Pigeon Forge and a portion of Sevierville, so there is never a stop that is too far away. All you need to do is find the trolley bear sign or a trolley shelter, and the trolley will be along shortly to get you back to our hotel!
3. Fare Information
One of the fantastic things about the Pigeon Forge Trolley is that the trolley fares are incredibly affordable! As a bonus, you don’t have to worry about the headaches of traffic and parking! Fares start at just $1.00 per route, and children who are ages 3 and under can ride for free. The individual fare is paid each time that you board the trolley, but keep in mind that the trolley drivers can only accept the exact fare and cannot make change. If you plan to ride the trolley several times during the day, consider the All Day Trolley Pass for the best deal in town! These day passes are only available for purchase at the Fun Time Trolley office at 186 Old Mill Avenue.
4. Trolley Routes
There are several convenient trolley routes throughout Pigeon Forge so that you can easily reach all of the popular destinations. Note that the trolley stop in front of the Vacation Lodge is located along the South Parkway route. This provides service as far south as Conner Heights Road at traffic light #10. However, if you want to take some of the other routes, simply drive right across the street to Patriot Park which is the hub for the Pigeon Forge Trolley. From here, you can take the North Parkway route with service as far north as Sevierville. Other routes include the Gatlinburg Welcome Center, Dollywood, Dolly’s Splash Country and Wears Valley routes.
