Axe throwing at Rowdy Bear
If you are planning a vacation to Pigeon Forge this summer, you’ll definitely want to put Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark on your itinerary! Don’t let the name of this family fun destination fool you – while snow tubing is offered during the winter months, you’ll find all kinds of action packed summertime activities! Here are 4 exciting things to do this summer at Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark:

1. Ski Lift Shootout Coaster

The Ski Lift Shootout Coaster combines the elements of a roller coaster and a shooting game to create one of the most unique rides in the Smokies! Each of the 2-seater suspended cars are equipped with a laser gun, so try to hit the targets as you swing, dip and soar around the track! The Ski Lift Shootout Coaster is open both during the day and at night, so ride twice for two completely different experiences! Anyone who is at least 40 inches tall can participate, but note that guests must be at least 47 inches tall to ride as a single rider.

2. Summer Outdoor Tubing

Tubing Hill at Rowdy Bear The thrilling amusement park also features an Outdoor Tubing Hill that is open almost all year, even during the summer months! While the tubing hill is covered with snow in the winter, a special material is used in the summertime to create the same thrilling experience! The tubing hill is over 500 feet long and features a 70 foot drop, making it possible for you to reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour on your way down! You don’t even have to hike back up the hill each time as a convenient conveyor system takes you right back up to ride again and again! Note that the summer tubing sessions are expected to begin in July.

3. Outdoor Axe Throwing

Try something a little different during your Pigeon Forge vacation with outdoor axe throwing! This is a fun activity similar to darts, but in this case you throw an axe in an attempt to hit the bullseye on the target! If this sounds a bit intimidating, take comfort knowing that a trained staff member will be there to assist you the entire time to teach you how to properly throw your axe! Before you know it, you’ll be having a blast and will be well on your way to becoming an honorary Smoky Mountain lumberjack!

4. Avalanche Snow Coaster

Rowdy Bear Power Coaster Another one of the exciting things to do this summer at Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Mountain Snowpark is the Avalanche Snow Coaster! This is the first ride of its type in the United States and is similar to a mountain coaster, but features a wider track so that two people can sit in a car side by side! Since you control the speed of the coaster, you can enjoy a leisurely ride down the ridge or go full throttle for a hair raising adventure! The operation of the Avalanche Show Coaster is simple – just push the handle forward to speed up or back to slow down! Keep in mind that you must be at least 40 inches tall to ride with an adult or 51 inches tall to ride alone.
