If you love having a mix of adventure, nature, attractions, quiet and excitement, then the Great Smoky Mountains are the ideal summer vacation destination. Dollywood will be hosting the annual Great American Summer, where families can spend more time together during longer park hours and evening celebrations. From June 14 through August 3, the Pigeon Forge theme park will be open from 10:00am – 10:00pm.

During the summer festival, the park will open with a live performance of the Star Spangled banner and close with a fireworks show featuring music recorded specifically for the occasion.

Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors will only last through the festival, but other new shows will continue later into the year.  The Great American Country Show runs from May 24 to October 18 and features six singer with a six-piece band performing some of country music’s legends.

You don’t have to leave the park to find a whole world of family-friendly things to do in Pigeon Forge. For an interactive show, Gazillion Bubbles: New Dimension will take the stage in Showstreet for a unique performance including bubble artistry, lasers and light effects. Gazillion Bubbles runs June 14-August 3.
