The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge

When you stay at the Vacation Lodge you won’t have to travel far for some fun! This August, the 2014 Smoky Mountain Cornhole Tournament will take place right across the street from our Pigeon Forge hotel. Part of the Stringtime in the Smokies Festival, the Cornhole Tournament is a great opportunity to soak up the sun and win some awesome prizes.

When and Where

The Smoky Mountain Cornhole Tournament will be held on Saturday August 2,2014, at 11:00 A.M. in The Old Mill Square. This year, the competition will have a special dedication in loving memory of Sergeant Brett Brenton. Old Mill is located at 175 Old Mill Avenue at traffic light #7 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Registration and Fees

There are two different divisions for the tournament: Amateur, and Competitive. To register, teams can fill out a form available at the Springtime in the Smokies website. Registration fees are as follows:

  • For Amateur teams, registration is $30 before July 18 and $40 by July 31.

  • For Competitive teams, registration is $50 before July 18 and $60 by July 31

Prizes

There will be cash prizes for the first three places in either division:

  • For Amateurs, First Place will receive 15% of registration fees; Second Place, 10%; Third Place, 5%. In addition, there will be random draws during the tournament for teams in this division.

  • For Competitive teams, First Place will be awarded $1,000 and a meal for four at the Old Mill Restaurant; Second Place, $500 and a meal for two; Third Place, $250.

Other Things to Do at Stringtime in the Smokies

If you’re not competing at the Cornhole Tournament, there’s no need to worry—admission is free at Stringtime in the Smokies, so you can bring a lawn chair and enjoy artists like Robinella, Richard Bennett & Wyatt Rice, and Grassroots Gringos.
